This page is part of the Terms of Service. It sets out what you may not do with Synis, with extra rules for videos made from a photo of your face.
What you may not do
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- make spam, fraud, or content that impersonates a real person or organisation;
- make sexual content, content that harasses or threatens someone, or content involving children in any harmful way;
- publish AI-made pictures, videos or text that could pass as real without saying they were made with AI where the law or the platform requires it;
- probe, scrape, overload or try to get unauthorised access to the Service;
- use Synis in a way that gets our access to a social platform or an AI provider suspended.
Your face
"Someone speaking" can make a video of yourself ("Yourself") saying the words you write, in your own voice, from one short clip you film once. Because it shows a real person saying things they did not film, these rules apply to every such video:
- Your own face and voice only. The clip must show and sound like you, the person signed in, and nobody else, reading the sentence Synis shows you. You confirm it with the checkboxes "This is my own face" and "This is my own voice" each time you film it.
- Adults only. You must be 18 or older. Never film a child.
- No public figures or other people. Not a celebrity, politician, influencer, employee, client or friend, even with their permission.
- No misleading words. Do not make yourself endorse something you do not, claim to be someone else, give medical or financial advice, campaign politically, or say anything sexual or abusive.
- AI labels stay on. Every video of yourself carries a visible "Made with AI" label. Do not remove, crop or cover it, and when you post the video, turn on the platform's AI label and say it was made with AI.
Your setup clip is private. Nobody else in your business can see or use it, it never appears in Your files, and it is used only to check you agreed and to take your voice and one still of your face to make your own videos, never to recognise or identify you. The clip itself is not sent to an AI model. When you film it, an AI model also listens to your voice once to check that you read the sentence, and Synis keeps only a score, not the words. We use it only with your explicit consent, and keep a record of it: who you are, the business, a fingerprint (hash) of the clip, the sentence you read, how well what you said matched it, the time, the version of these rules, your IP address and your browser. You can film it again and delete it at any time in Settings, under Your data, then Yourself; deleting removes the clip, the still of your face and your voice straight away and keeps only the record of your agreement, while you are a member of that business. Videos you already made stay until you delete them. The Privacy Policy says who processes them.
Synis presenters
"Someone speaking" can also use a Synis presenter: a face that does not exist, drawn by Synis for each stock voice, so nobody at your business has to appear on camera. A presenter needs no setup and no consent, and these rules apply to every video it appears in:
- Never a real person. A presenter is made up. It may not be presented as, or edited to look like, you, an employee, a customer or anyone who exists.
- No pretend customers. A presenter speaks for your business as its host. It must not claim to be a customer, a client, a patient, an employee or a user, or give a review or testimonial. Synis refuses a script that does.
- The other rules still apply. No misleading words, no medical or financial advice, no political campaigning, nothing sexual or abusive, and the "Made with AI" label stays on the video and in the platform's own settings when you post it.
Report misuse
If a video made with Synis shows your face and you did not make it, or breaks these rules in another way, email support@synis.ai with the subject "Report misuse of a face", a link to or copy of the video, and where you saw it. You do not need a Synis account.
We take a reported video down within 48 hours of the report while we look into it, and we tell you what we did. If the rules were broken we delete the video and may suspend or close the account that made it.
If these rules are broken
We may remove content, turn off videos of faces for an account, or suspend or close the account, as the Terms of Service allow. We may also have to tell our AI providers or the authorities when the law or their terms require it.
